The hotel was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and tidy, the bed was comfortable, added extra of there being an armchair, rather than having to sit on the bed to watch TV or have a coffee. When we went down for breakfast, we were treated by polite helpful staff who took us to the dining room and showed us to a table. There were options of a continental breakfast and a cooked breakfast. Orange and apple juice, fruit, yoghurts, pastries. All in all, it was a delight to stay at the hotel. Also, we liked that on our corridor, there were sparkling and still water taps for guests to help themselves, I felt this was a great idea. The view of the river and fields from our room were lovely and can imagine very picturesque in nicer weather.

It’s very close to the motorway and has safe free parking. There’s a wee service type station next to the hotel. Quiet location. We arrived too late to eat this stay but have used the restaurant before and the food was good. The staff are lovely. It’s quite old fashioned and a little tired but nothing that’s not to like. For the price it’s good and better than a travel lodge or motorway service station hotel. The rooms are a good size. Most have bath and separate shower. It’s pretty quiet and we slept well. There is Elemis toiletries.

Although the hotel was chock full due to a large coach party on their way to Scotland, the staff looked after us well. Warm welcome at reception, help with our bags. We could only eat in the evening after the coach party, but this was nicely explained and it was not late and we were quite happy with a drink in the bar while we waited. Excellent breakfast. My brother stayed here several years ago and said it was bit tired, but it has become a chain hotel since and clearly been smartened up. Would choose it again.

Value for money is extremely good and I don’t feel other reviews have taken this into account Nice bar and restaurant Phone in the room (and a mini fridge we requested) Great communication about the stay The new manager has definitely made improvements since my last review (7/10) back in April 2024. New manager (Victoria W) explained she took over at the start the year and has clearly made changes for the better since then. We will definitely stay again

The room was clean spacious and very quiet I had a lovely nights sleep. The attached steakhouse restaurant was lovely to visit and had some lovely options, I myself partook in the monfish scampi and a battered haddok fish dinner. Breakfast was a nice affair as well , all self service with excellent continental and hot food options. Lots of tables to pick from for a nice view with the morning coffee.
